Angers

Angers can be found in the west of France, in the Loire Valley. It is a pleasant town, in the heart of the wine and chateau region of France, meaning that there is a great deal to do in the area. The most famous landmark here is the impressive Château d’Angers – an extensive fortress with outside walls exceeding 1km. The château contains its own windmill, chapel, prison and courtyard, amongst other things. The château is most famous for the Tapestry of the Apocalypse that is held within – at 100m long it is something definitely worth seeing whilst in the region. It is also worth visiting the Musée Jean Lurçat and the cathedral.
